A Farmhouse and Barn conversion in Moelfre Anglesey, Wales.
Richard Williams (Estates Manager) was recommended to seek advice from Total NRG on the design and installation of renewable technology on the two holiday lets to reduce their Co2 and fuel bills.
We designed and installed the system using 2 Stiebel Eltron WPF10S ground source heat pumps (GSHP). This became one central heating system in one of the detached storage buildings, which was turned into a dedicated central plant room and drying room. We used district heating/sanitary pipes to feed the two projects underground. The two heat pumps were combined to meet all the heating and hot water requirements.
The Farmhouse was on an old oil combi boiler using radiators for the heating.
The Barn was a clean slate, and we designed and installed underfloor heating throughout both floors. This was an easy solution as both floors were block and beam, so a traditional screed and UFH was used
We used a Stiebel Eltron 600 ltr unvented hot water cylinder to easily cope with the high demand for both properties.
